I recently enjoyed Takashi Miike's 'Lumberjack The Monster' (2023) on Netflix - a superb J-giallo thriller for those emotionally robust enough (there are similarities to Argento's 'Cat o'Nine Tails'). It's in the procedural detective genre plus deep character study, surprising turnarounds - totally absorbing (and very bloody and disturbing in parts).
