...and the French word fenêtre comes from the Latin word fenestra, which meant "a hole or opening in a partition wall or rampart" and the Latin term is derived from the Greek phanaeus, which meant "to bring or give light"... which is the origin of the name Phineas - as in Phineas and Ferb, one of my all-time fave animated series which is making a comeback later this year!

(Etymology is fascinating, isn't it.)
