Hello again, Simon - seems we have parallel cinematic lives. I too found ET an emotional experience, as did my daughter when she watched it. The ending is so bitter-sweet yet beautiful.

As for Angel Heart, yes, I can remember the creeping dread as it inexorably mounted. Not a fan of Alan Parker, yet this one was an anomaly! Remains among my favourites. I saw it in the afternoon at the Blackpool Odeon, off season, so hardly anyone else in the huge auditorium and so it was totally immersive. The finale was actually a surprise, first-time round, even though there are some BIG pointers that seem so obvious on subsequent viewings!
