Yes, I've been researching quite a few films from the 1950s and 1960s and it wasn't unusual for them to be recut and retitled by distributors for different territories.

A case in point would be Mario Bava's 'Operazione Paura / Operation Fear' (1966) which I reviewed here - https://www.framerated.co.uk/kill-baby-kill-1966/ - I mean, who would've thought that 'Kill! Baby... Kill!', 'Dead Eyes of Dracula', 'Curse of the Dead', and 'Don't Walk in the Park' were all the same film? (Albeit different cuts.)
